I'm a chartered consultant clinical psychologist with over 25 years' experience working in the NHS. I specialise in working with adults with all types of difficulties: anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, low self-esteem, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, PTSD, addictions, interpersonal difficulties, pain.
I am accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and I am an accredited supervisor and consultant of the association for eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR UK). I am also a member of the Laurel Parnell Institute for Attachment-Focussed EMDR. I hold a diploma in CBT for psychosis and I am also trained in Family Intervention for psychosis. I am a member of the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health Care Professions Council.
Currently all appointments are taking place online via Zoom, Skype, Bilateral Base or WhatsApp; or telephone if you have no video call option.
What can you expect?
The initial appointment will be a consultation to discuss what problems you would like help with and what type of intervention would be most helpful. This is a collaborative process in which we arrive at a mutual decision about how best to proceed. It can be difficult to seek help and it is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist so this is an opportunity for you to decide whether you think this feels right for you.
I provide evidence-based interventions for psychological problems as recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Health Excellence (NICE). Many problems I encounter are underpinned by earlier traumatic experiences and for this reason I have specialised in a treatment called Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a recommended treatment for complex trauma and PTSD. EMDR is also an effective treatment for depression, phobias and pain.
I offer CBT and EMDR supervision for HCPC registered clinicians. This is available face to face or via phone or Skype.
I protect your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, details of which are provided on the "Privacy" page.
